DELLA CHEN - Director

Della is a documentary photographer and native Seattleite. She has been telling visual stories for weddings, families, commercial and editorial assignments for the last 20 years. She has been involved in multi-media projects about homeless advocacy and aging out of foster care. Since 2018, Della has been a teaching artist for Pablove Shutterbugs, a non-profit organization that teaches the art of photography to kids living with cancer. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Youth in Focus, a free after school program in Seattle amplifying teen voices through photography and arts education. This is her first documentary film project and definitely not her last.

 

AMY BENSON - Producer

Amy Benson has been producing, directing and editing documentary films since 2005. Her feature about the Darnal family in Nepal, Drawing the Tiger, was a granted project of the Sundance Institute, Fork Films and recipient of the Points North Fellowship. It premiered at Hot Docs in April 2015 and screened in over 50 festivals worldwide. It was awarded the Best Feature Jury prize by the Northwest Film Forum, the Documentary Feature Award from CAAM Fest, the Jury Award for the Best Documentary at the Asiatica Film Festival and the UNICEF award at Film South Asia. The sequel, The Eldest Son, premiered at the Kathmandu Mountain Film Festival in 2017 and is featured on Tasveer TV. Her ongoing work with the subjects of these two films continues as they film their lives in Nepal during and post- COVID. She is a co-producer of From Here, a film following four young second generation immigrants in their search for belonging which won the audience award from Northwest Film Forum in 2021. Amy is an alumna of the Hedgebrook Documentary Residency program, a founding member of the Seattle Documentary Association and is super passionate about supporting filmmakers in their process.

 
 
 
 
 

JASON CHEN - Editor

Jason J. Chen has worked as an editor in the short form unscripted space for over 7 years. His work ranges from documentaries about migrant issues and identity to teenage tiktok videos. He views his skill set as an act of service to storytellers and is excited to continue to work with creative people and ideas.

 
 
 

DINA GUTTMANN - Editor 

Dina began editing documentary films in 1996.  She delights in bringing characters to life.  Whether it be the King of Nepal in National Geographic Special’s The Last Royals, the mother and son duo who hand-craft artificial eyes in POV’s A Healing Art, or the flamboyant Mexican wrestler Cassandro in The New Yorker’s The Man Without a Mask, Dina specializes in creating emotional connections between audiences and the characters who drive these stories
